Theo Walcott may finally have come to an end

Liverpool’s interest in Arsenal winger Theo Walcott may finally have come to an end after the club brought inSadio Mane for a whopping £ 34 million.

The transfer fee could potentially rise to £ 36 million depending on performances. The Southampton forward is a significant addition to the Liverpool squad. At 24 years of age, he is also comparatively younger compared to Theo Walcott, whose future at Arsenal has been plunged into even more doubt following the conclusion of this transfer. Walcott has just received a bad news in the form of being left out of the Euro 2016 by manager Roy Hodgson.

However, he accepted the decision by the England boss since the decision was largely taken on the back of his disappointing 2015-16 season. Even though there were a lot of injuries for Arsenal, manager Arsene Wenger did not largely believe in the performances of Walcott. The club ended the campaign trophyless with Walcott failing to enter into double figures when it comes to goals scored. It was rumoured that Walcott would finally in his long-term association with Arsenal in the hope of regular first-team football. The next European Championship could be the last opportunity for Walcott to feature for the national team at a major tournament.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was reportedly keen on adding more pace up front. The addition of Mane, though, seems to solve the problem. Walcott is likely to assess his options in the next few weeks. The upcoming transfer window could be one of the last opportunities to secure a move to a big club. Beyond this summer, Walcott is unlikely to find any offers from big clubs unless he is available on a free transfer. The former Southampton winger still has a couple of years left on his contract signed a couple of years ago.
