England international Theo Walcott has revealed his pleasure after reaching the 300-appearance landmark in the Premier League. The attacker burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old with Arsenal more than 12 years ago and he has since gone through the highs and lows of the league while accumulating more than 300 appearances.

Speaking to Premier League.com, Walcott said that he is pleased with the achievement on the personal scale. He added that the Premier League has become a tougher competition with every year and this makes it the best domestic division in the world, he quipped: “As a personal achievement, it’s fantastic.

Everton defender Kurt Zouma has hailed Jermaine Pickford as one of the world’s best goalkeepers after he redeemed himself with a strong performance against Newcastle United in the Premier League. Speaking after the game, Zouma was full of praise for the former Sunderland man, who ensured that the Toffees came up with one point against the Magpies, he said: “We know he’s different class. Everyone can make mistakes but what he did today was show he is one of the best keepers in the world. He just needs to keep doing that and help us win games. Everybody’s disappointed with the result. Obviously we couldn’t score a second goal. Their goal was the only chance they had in the first half. We tried to move the ball quickly but not how we wanted in the first half. The second half was a bit better so there are some positives to take.”

England international Theo Walcott has admitted that he was not enjoying it at Arsenal towards the backend of his Gunners career. The attacker spent more than a decade with the north London giants but he was left frustrated during the tailend of his career where he struggled for regular playing time.

In a report covered by Goal.com, Walcott admitted that he was frustrated with how the final years of his Gunners career came about but he is pleased to have his smile back after the making the switch to Goodison Park, he said: “I wasn’t enjoying it. I’ll be honest. I was frustrated, I wasn’t playing, I didn’t play a lot of the time. Having spent so much time there, done so well, it does hurt, but that’s gone now. I had great times but I feel like I’m going to have even greater times here, I really do. I also feel like I’m playing with a smile on my face. If I’m doing that then the best will come out.”

Netherlands goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has penned a fresh two-year extension with Everton. The 35-year-old made just two appearances for the Toffees during an injury-plagued campaign last term but he has nevertheless earned a fresh contract which should see him committed to the club until June 2020.

Speaking on the club’s official website, he said: “I'm fit now. I've played in our pre-season games and I'm very much looking forward to Jordan getting back here so we can push one another. I understand my role and I will try to compete with Jordan and push him to continue to get better as well.”

Theo Walcott says that Everton fans can expect a lot more from Cenk Tosun in the coming years. The 27-year-old made the switch to Everton from Besiktas in the January transfer window for a fee of around € 22.5 million. This is his first spell in English football, but the player is no stranger to Europe in football as he is eligible for both Germany and Turkey. After representing Germany up to the under 21 levels, he made the switch to represent Turkey for the senior national team. He has made more than 25 appearances for Turkey since his debut in 2013.

In his first campaign with Everton, Cenk Tosun came up with a return of five goals in 14 league appearances. This was a reasonable return for a team that was not perfect in the 2017-18 campaign. Wayne Rooney was one of the top scorers for Everton last season and he only managed 10 goals in the league. This speaks volumes about the lack of goal scorers in the Everton team andTosun was a breath of fresh air in this regard. Walcott expects the performances and the goal return to increase in the coming campaign. For the upcoming campaign, the Turkish international is likely to lead the line in the absence of Wayne Rooney and he is likely to be supported by Walcott.

Everton winger Theo Walcott has backed Cenk Tosun to showcase his best game when the Toffees kickstart the 2018/19 Premier League season. The Turkey international joined the Merseyside outfit from Besiktas midway through the previous campaign and had a good debut as he contributed eight goals and a further assist in the top-flight.

Speaking to Everton’s official website, Walcott has backed his teammate to come good during the 2018/19 season as he is expected to have a full pre-season under his belt, he said:“Cenk has settled in really well and you will see a lot more from him next season. He feels at home here, I believe. It’s a different culture and that’s not an easy thing for any player.”

Everton right-back Seamus Coleman has backed Jordan Pickford to make a huge impression with the England national side at the summer World Cup. The Toffees shot-stopper was picked alongside Jack Butland and Nick Pope for the role between the sticks and he is widely expected to start for the Three Lions in their World Cup opener.

In a recent interview, Coleman praised the former Sunderland man after a strong debut season with the Toffees for which he has been rewarded with a World Cup spot, he said: “Jordan’s had an excellent first season at the Club and shown what a talented keeper he is. He signed for a big fee but has taken everything in his stride, got on with his job, and that shows the kind of character he is. It’s great for a defender to play in front of a goalkeeper with his talent and his form for Everton has been rewarded with England. If he gets the nod at the World Cup, I don’t think anyone connected with Everton will have any doubt that he’ll go out there and show what he’s capable of.”

Everton striker Oumar Niasse has talked up his fruitful partnership with Theo Walcott since the latter’s arrival from Arsenal during the winter transfer window. The England international improved the creativity within the Toffees squad during the backend of the campaign and Oumar has relished the opportunity of playing alongside the former Southampton graduate.

Speaking on the club’s official website, he said: “I enjoy playing with Theo, he is fast and always running in behind the defence. As a striker, I can hold the ball with my power and he can make the run in behind – and I can make the runs as well. When I am coming with the ball, you see him working and moving. As a striker, if you can play with someone running beyond you, it creates more space for you to come back or run to the other side.”

Everton forward Theo Walcott has expressed gratitude towards departing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The England international scored the only goal of Everton’s 1-0 triumph over Newcastle United and shortly after the match, the attacker took a moment to thank Wenger, who aided his initial development.

He told Sky Sports News: “Just a word on Arsene after announcing he is leaving Arsenal, he is a fantastic man, fantastic manager. Ican't thank him enough for what he did for me at such a young age to have that faith in me, and now I'm here with Sam and again he's shown so much faith in me. I just want to repay that really to him personally and for this team. I want to work hard. I feel like the team and myself worked really hard tonight and like I say it was a really well-fought battle tonight.”
